The blogging world is up in arms these days as views of their Facebook Page posts dwindle and the Promote Your Posts feature becomes even more prominent. Many people blame Facebook's money-grubbing antics behind this change, but that isn't necessarily the case.
Are you asking yourself this question:
Here are a few reasons for low stats on Facebook.
If you're getting yourself riled up about low interaction numbers, check the external situation first! How many Likes do you have? How much activity do you tend to get? Review the Insights portion of your Facebook profile, and dig for crucial information. This is where you can learn about your clients, their demographics, activity, timing, and more.
If your Facebook Page has to few users, focus on bringing in more by creating content that drives users to your Page, promote it through Facebook Ads, and/or get engaged with other, relevant Pages.
Low numbers can indicate users who just don't enjoy your content. Granted, this isn't always the case, and Insights do show you how many people viewed each post. Those numbers specifically may be low because of the following reason, but low numbers are a sign of low engagement. Even your fans won't see your posts if they aren't engaged with your brand. The more they interact, the more they see your posts. If they aren't engaged, they won't be part of your traffic.
This might happen for any of the following reasons, so keep reading!
Not everyone will see each and every one of your posts, no matter what. It all depends on when you post, when your users are online, and how active they are in general. Some times of day are better than others, but this all depends on your specific brand. Sure, there are rules of thumb out there, but they won't work for you completely!
To learn more about when and how your users engage, fall in love with the Insights page, and stay there.
Even if your posts are being seen, people might not want to get involved. Why? This could be for a million and a half reasons, almost all of which can be generalized as irrelevant content. You might be updating very specific information that meets your community's way of thinking and being completely, but they won't click or type unless it connects with them.
Just sharing links? You might not get Likes. Sharing a ton of posts from other Pages? Your users might not like that. Sharing pictures of your lunch? Also not necessarily the best idea. Read more on what not to publish!
Pro Tip: No complaining, or very little. Are you fussing about people not seeing your posts? Don't. It's one thing to stake an opinion, it's another to whine!
Look at the other Pages for businesses/websites/blogs like your own. How do they do it? How often? How do you compare? If you're not stacking up, your customers will run away! Find a way to grab hold of your market niche, and ride it until it's yours.
If, after all of these suggestions, you continue to have these problems, then we might want to start blaming Facebook. No matter what, these tips should start sending traffic your way!
